First Responder Recert (WFRR)
4 Day WFR Recertification Course (minimum age: 16)
Spirit Point Lodge – South River, ON Dates & Registration Below
Keep your Wilderness First Responder Certification up to date! This short & intensive Wilderness First Responder Recert (WFRR) course equips participants with a 3 year recertification in Wilderness First Responder regardless of what provider issued their original certification. Often a great chance to socialize & catch up with classmates from your original WFR or just people you know that work in the outdoor industry!
The Wilderness First Responder Recertification course (WFRR) course will revisit concepts learned in earlier courses and inform students of any changes in the practice of wilderness medicine since their last course. Most of the class time will be spent on practical drills, simulations, and case studies as a means of reviewing subject matter and refreshing skills.
To enroll, students must have an unexpired Wilderness First Responder (WFR) certificate from WMA or another approved provider such as Sirius, Solo, Wilderness Medical Institute (WMI), or Slipstream (please inquire about others). A review package will be sent to the student and must be completed before the start of the course.
Wilderness First Responder Recertification training uses hands-on sessions, as well as classroom lecture and discussion. Realistic scenarios with stage blood and simulated wounds are utilized to prepare students for backcountry emergencies.
